MATERA, 13th – 15th October 2017
Three dimensions to open your ears to more
Artistic research. International guests from outside the musical sphere.
New accordion players with innovative ideas. These are the three dimensions of the programme of the Fadiesis Accordion Festival to be held in Matera, European Capital of Culture 2019, dimensions chosen with the aim of discovering and exploring new artistic territory.
For the 2017 edition, the exploration will touch on the precious canon of sacred music, an almost unprecedented foray for the accordion with its modern sound.
A fascinating pot-pourri of pieces, styles and tones will take the audience on a trans-European journey in the gala performance of the Festival: in the lead will be an extraordinary pair of virtuosos, Domi Emorine from France and Russion Roman Jbanov.
The Festival will close with three young, talented musicians from the overall winners of the 41st Castelfidardo Accordion Prize: a trio capable of combining outstanding technical ability with a creative musical approach.
A taster for the event will take place at the end of August in Grassano and Montescaglioso, when “notes from two worlds” will echo through the summer evenings.
